From The Desk of Rev. Floyd Cryer

From The Desk Of Rev. Floyd Cryer

Dear friends,

I am more excited about sharing this new year of 2017 here at Testimony & Prayer Ministries. I know this blog hasn’t been the best of blogs but this is going to change in the coming year! That is why I am sharing with you the full details of where God is leading Testimony & Prayer Ministries in the year of 2017 through this blog.

I am writing you from my desk where I have been busy for this last semester slam packed with a full itinerary of college curriculum so this blog has gone neglected, But I have the privilege of addressing this by backing down my curriculum this coming semester so that I can have the time to focus on God’s Will which is every one of your salvation and knowledge that is needed for personal growth in the kingdom of God.

I have plans to share with you the knowledge that you seek for the growth that you need and hopefully in the future that we can come together and unite all believers from around the world in prayer and peace as well as ministry and standing for and with God’s Chosen People.

The Lord has given me a commission to bring every one of you to Life through Salvation through Jesus Christ through knowledge from God’s Word from the beginning of time to the present time and instruct you on God’s Will through His Word and lay it before you in black-and-white so it cannot be disputed.

Yet, God gives you a will to choose Salvation. It is not something we force here at this blog. We do not prosthelytize here. We give you the information that you need which is nothing but the truth and we hope you do your own research so that you come to your own conclusions and in the end come back here and let others know; we have plenty of places for your comments and reactions.

In 2017 I will be challenging you to join me in challenging me in this capstone project as I bring you all the pieces that will come together to provide a great spiritual growth that we need to make 2017 the greatest year we have seen in our Spiritual life to date.

It is my prayer that you will be challenged, inspired, and blessed as you read this blog by Testimony & Prayer Ministries... And that you will respond with your most generous gift of comments and readership so that together we can see our dreams and growth in our spiritual life come to life. Thank you so much for your heart and your love and your readership and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and the best year to come in the year of 2017.

Review: A Theology of Biblical Counseling: The Doctrinal Foundations of Counseling Ministry

A Theology of Biblical Counseling: The Doctrinal Foundations of Counseling Ministry A Theology of Biblical Counseling: The Doctrinal Foundations of Counseling Ministry by Heath Lambert
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

This century has surely been a time to be cautious about what you are reading and applying in your life Biblically. Secular Practices have been popping up everywhere in the Christian Church giving the devil his foot the inch in the doorway that he has been wanting since the Reformation.

Heath Lambert has gone the distance in this book by explaining in detail the Christians who rely on the counseling of secular people, (Integrationists, Christian counselors, and Christian psychologists, etc.). Lambert goes into great detail with examples and explains the whys and why nots of each case. Lambert also describes areas where biblical counselors agree with each other in Christian counseling as well as in disagreeing in a case.

As a Reverend myself I found that this book gave me some new insight where I needed it and gave me direction where I had none. This book was a long read for me but was worth every minute of it.

I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review of this book and my honest opinion of this book is that every Christian Ordained Minister should read this book for the insight it will give you before you begin to Minister to your Flock... An Invaluable Volume of Information!

More Than A Quest

Luke 19:8 – 10
8 and Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restored him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is Salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of Man Is come to seek and to save that which is lost.
I picked this section of the chapter that is written about Zacchaeus because there are several points that can be learned through the study of these 3 versus in Him. When Jesus was passing through Jericho He was pretty much surrounded by those looking to catch Jesus breaking the Word of God, but they never could and even in verse 7 they were murmuring about Jesus being a guest with a man who is a sinner. However, Jesus wasn’t one to ever cater to the public whim or any prevailing opinion neither did he ever jump aboard the train of conventional wisdom.
8 and Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restored him fourfold.
This is a verse that is one that all Christians should think long and hard about when making the altar call to ask forgiveness for knowing the cashier gave you more change than she should have but you didn’t say anything and went on about your business and the numerous other things that go along these lines of sin. You know who you are and what sins I am talkin’ about. This isn’t rocket science people. This is looking inside and asking yourself if God would approve of what you just did?
But let’s look at the 2nd half of this verse. Roman Law required of fourfold restitution; the mandated principal of the Levitical Law was only 1/5 part added [Num. 5:7]; the heart shows through in truth because he imposed upon himself the severe measure of Exodus 22:1; it was his own heart that judged himself unto true Repentance. Not many people are that way, especially in today’s society.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is Salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
So here, we see that Jesus accepts his repentance and tells him that Salvation has come to his house. It is the 2nd half of this Scripture that gives people, “pause,” should I say. For a lot of us it is pretty simple. But for those of you that it gives, pause, what Jesus is saying is that Zacchaeus has all of the rights to Salvation as any other person in Israel; now, the religious leaders not just may have, they surely did shut him out because he was a tax collector, they said he was unfit to be saved or worthy of God’s Salvation, BUT, Jesus Christ didn’t. I don’t know about you, but I think everybody needs to think about that statement very carefully!!!
There will be many, many, many that believe they will enter the Gates of Heaven because of their works and deeds, their wealth and charity, but they did not take stock or inventory of their heart and humble themselves before God and repent, truly repent like Zacchaeus and they will be denied entrance into the Gates of Heaven.
10 For the Son of Man Is come to seek and to save that which is lost.
God, in my limited mind I cannot imagine how long it took him to come to a decision, now remember we don’t know His existence, to send His Son in a very active participation to “seek the lost”. This does not end there, because this was such an active participation that it sent His Son, Jesus Christ to the Cross!
If you are not Saved and have Jesus Christ invited in your heart than now is the time! There is no time to wait, you’re never guaranteed another second in this life. All you have to do is pray the little prayer below:
“Dear God in Heaven, I come to you today as a lost sinner.”
“I am asking you that you save my soul and cleanse me from all sin.”
“I realize in my heart my need of salvation, which can only come through Jesus Christ.”
“I am accepting Christ into my heart and what He did on the Cross in order to purchase my redemption.”
“In obedience to your Word, I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in my heart that God has raised Him from the dead.”
“You have said in your Word which cannot lie, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Rom.10:13).”
“I have called upon Your Name exactly as you said, and I believe that right now I am saved.”

If you have sincerely prayed these words, which have been written out for you, and believed in your heart upon the Lord Jesus Christ, you are at this moment saved, and your name is written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Congratulations!

The Lost Coin - Luke 15:8 - 10

The Lost Coin

Luke 15:8 - 10
8 Either what woman having 10 pieces of silver, if she loses one piece, does not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and her neighbors together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I found the piece which I have lost.

10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the Angels of God over one sinner who repents.

This parable is right after the parable of the lost sheep. Like the lost sheep, here Jesus is showing value over the lost coin. Now this is twice that Jesus is showing value over tangibles. When the Holy Spirit shows something once it’s important, when He shows something twice it is very, very important and needs to be more than just understood, it needs to be taken very seriously. In this instance Jesus is showing the value that God places on a lost soul. Jesus 1st likens unto a lost sheep, then the value of a lost coin, all pointing toward a lost soul.

Verse 9 is pretty well understood on its own. Everybody has heard the saying; the Angels sing in Heaven when someone gets saved. I believe if you listen close enough you can truly hear them praise to the Lord and sing for joy when a soul gets saved; but that’s how I feel about it.

Now verse 10 is very important. This verse takes us into the very throne room of God placing the biggest emphasis on the significance of the Salvation of a lost soul that is written in the word of God. For this reason, is the reason that Jesus Christ shed His Blood and died on the Cross of Calvary. Not only do the Angels praise with joy in the presence of God over one sinner who repents, but now we as children of God, we are able to boldly go into the throne room of God and talk directly to God.

Salvation Is A Priority

Salvation Is A Priority
Today we have gotten so far away from the Bible and God that even those that go to church don’t even understand what salvation actually is. My wife and I take the gospel to the street and I have actually asked people on the street if they go to church, over half of them say they go to church and I asked them, how do you get to Heaven?

Their answers vary, but if I put them all together this is what they would say:

“be good, live a good life, give to the less fortunate, love God,” and the Catholics, “live a good life and love God, help the less fortunate, but in the end there’s no guarantee that one will enter the gates of Heaven, first you have to get out of purgatory.”

Now these are people that go to church and their supposed to know how to get to heaven, so today I want to touch on Salvation As A Priority.

Luke 10:2

2 Therefore said He unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest.

This verse tells us in no uncertain terms that the Salvation of souls is not only the biggest priority, but the “Only” priority of the Lord. The Holy Spirit tells us, “the harvest truly is great,” meaning that not just in those days were there many to be saved, but today, even those that are in his Temple need Salvation!

The fact is, that for every person that does not have the privilege to hear about the Salvation of Lord, Jesus Christ died in vain!

There is another fact that I want to bring out. I have this shirt that I love to wear that says Follow Me, I will make you fishers of men Matthew 4:19. The more I think about that the more I realize there are so many, many that are in the fishing business, but very few are actually doing the fishing...

Then, the Holy Spirit tells us to, “pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest,” prayer is the formula for which the harvest is gathered. Without prayer there is no moving of the Holy Spirit! And if the Holy Spirit is not moving there is no Salvation. We must always remember that is Jesus Christ who is the Lord of the harvest.

And finally, I touched on this just a few lines ago, “that he would send forth laborers into His harvest.” Again there are many, many people that say they are in the fishers of men business, but there are very few that are actually fishing for men. Without “laborers” the harvest cannot be gathered.

As I am a Fisher of men, it is time for me to fish! Are you saved? Do you know Jesus Christ as your Personal Savior? Jesus Christ said in John 14:6 “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes unto the Father but by Me.”

So if you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Savior, I ask you to pray this little prayer;

Father I come to you in the name of Jesus. I ask you Father that you forgive me of my sins as I forgiven others it is sinned against me. Father I asked for Jesus to come into my heart and to cleanse me and to save me and the make me whole again. Father I know that it is my faith in Jesus Christ and what he accomplished on the cross that will take my sins away and cleanse my heart and my soul and give me a new life. In now I know that I am whole, I clean, I am cleansed, I am free and I am saved, I am now a child of yours and have everlasting life, I know that now I am written down in the book of life to live forever amen, and amen.
